What Is The Difference Between Decluttering And Organising?
If you curious about the difference between decluttering and organising I wanted to share with you my definition.
Decluttering
This is the process of auditing and editing the physical items that you own, in any given space in your home.
It is also about helping you gain a better understanding of why you have clutter and how you feel about your space.
There is so much more to decluttering than deciding what to keep and what you no longer need. There is a lot of psychology involved in the process. As we declutter we gain better understanding of:
Our organising beliefs
The reasons why we hold onto items
The impact that clutter has on our well being
The inflow of items into your space by reviewing your purchasing behaviour.
Each person has a different view on the level of clutter that they feel comfortable with in their space. However, too much clutter can often lead to feeling overwhelmed.
The process of decluttering step by step is a form of self-care. By simplifying you’re your space you also simplify your life and have a less cluttered mind.
Organising
The next important step after decluttering a space is to organise the things that we need and use. This involves:
Deciding where and how groups of items in your home should be stored
Creating effective storage based on your needs and the way you live.
This will ensure that you can find what you need when you need it, manage stock levels to ensure that you are not over buying and simplifies the management of your space.
