HOW DO I START ORGANISING WITH MY CLIENTS?
When I first tell people that I am an EXPERIENCED ORGANISER I usually get one of two reactions:
1. I and my home really need you in my life
2. I’d be too embarrassed to show you my home
However, once I’ve explained why people use a professional decluttering and organising service, how the process works and the benefits that come with a simplified home management system they usually take my contacts details and contact me shortly after our meeting to book a time to start their decluttering journey.
The Process Of Working With Blissfully Organised
Step 1: A New Client Contacts Blissfully Organised
At this time I like to reassure a new client that they have already made the biggest step by contacting Blissfully Organised to support them on their decluttering journey.
Step 2: Consultation To Set Organisational Goals
Often when I client first contacts me they are feeling overwhelmed by the space that they are living and/or working in. They know that they want to make changes but don’t know where to start.
I ask a series of questions to establish their organisational goals. I then explain how I can support their specific needs, how long it will take and how I work with my clients. Each client is unique so I offer bespoke solutions for each client based on their situation.
Step 3: A Home/Workspace Organisation Audit
Sometimes a client needs to declutter and organise a specific space such as a loft or garage so we book a single session to achieve this goal. However, more often my clients want to declutter and organise many rooms in their home or workspace.
I recommend that we start their journey with a Home/Workspace Organisation Audit. This is a two hour consultation in a clients home or office. We have an informal consultation then take a tour of their space. The consultation is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know each other and to discuss their specific needs. The service that I provide is confidential and non-judgemental which I am able to reassure them at this first meeting.
I then send through a detailed action plan to work through the spaces that they would like to organise. This sets priorities and recommendations to organise each space. A client then has the opportunity to work through my recommendations independently or book further session to fast track results.
Step 4 : Decluttering & Organising Sessions
Following the Home/Workspace Organisation Audit I agree the number of sessions with a client to organise their space. During each session I provide the EMOTIONAL SUPPORT (decluttering can sometimes be emotional. Hugs are optional), PRACTICAL HELP (I will guide you through the entire session. I also make recommendations of what to do with the things that you no longer want to keep and can drop these off at a charity shop or tip) and finally the MOTIVATION to achieve your goals (this is important, especially towards the end of a session when a client may be feeling tired). I always tidy up at the end of each session and load unwanted items into the car so a client can take a break once we have finished knowing everything is in place.
Step 5: The Blissfully Organised Action List
In addition to decluttering and organising with each client I also offer top tips on home management – setting up easy to manage systems to save time and money. I always follow up each session with an action list. This details any actions they need to follow up on after our session and any recommendations that I think will be relevant to them.
