Childhood Memories - Keep Everything or Carefully Edit?
1. Did your parents keep everything from your childhood to pass onto you one day?
2. Do you find it hard to decide what to keep for your children and future generations?
Story of your life
When I am working with a client we often come across boxes that have been passed onto them by their parents. These boxes are filled with things that have been carefully kept from their children.
This can include a range of items including toys, games, books, school books, certificates, university work, artwork, letters, clothing, baby teeth, umbilical cord, photos, items on display from their childhood bedroom, sports trophies etc.
Often my clients do not know what to do with these items and are often surprised by how much their parents have kept. One client had 10 large boxes delivered from her parents when she moved into her new home.
Everyone’s story is unique and the items that you select to represent your live story is personal.
I support my clients to work through memory boxes to edit and decide which items are truly important to keep and reflect important times in their lives. We also discuss how best to store the items that they have decided to keep.
Do you keep everything that for your children?
If you need support setting up a system to create a memory box/story of your life box for yourself or your children I’d love to hear from you.
